Food4Heroes has always believed in partnerships with other charitable organisations. We are delighted to announce the support from Critical NHS, a Community Interest Company set up in March 2020 with the same mission as Food4Heroes, who are funding a meal service we have organised for the Princess Royal Hospital in Hayward’s Heath. With staff Morale running very low in the hospital, Food4Heroes was contacted by a staff nurse from their ICU to see if we could help them by delivering a meal service. With funding challenges, we were introduced to Critical NHS who were more than happy to help. Janneke Diemel, Critical NHS Founder remarks,
“Critical NHS is pleased to announce that working in partnership with Food4Heroes, we are able to help fund meals to frontline staff at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, commencing this week. Having to deal with a large number of Covid patients, frontline ICU staff across many hospitals are working long hours and often don’t have the energy or time to think about a meal. This is our small gesture to say thank you for all that you do”.
The meals are being lovingly prepared by Katherine Churcher and her team from Hailsham based caterer, Champagne and Caviar.
Katherine remarks “We are so pleased to be helping this worthwhile cause in such difficult times for our NHS frontline workers. It gives us focus and energy to contribute positively.”
The meal service is due to last through to the Middle of February and we hope additional funds can be raised by local people in Sussex to continue to offer the service until the pressures of Covid-19 are reduced.
